Unit 0 & 1 Guideline

Day 1 (Sept. 1, 2) – Introductions / Classroom Expectations & Handouts /Notebook Expectations / PR 3 Paper Towers / Assignment PR 4-18

Day 2 (Sept. 3, 4) – First do PR 26 / PR 27 / Then do the activity for PR 19-21 without answering every question in text (just do the activity) / Assignment PR 19 - 35

Day 3 (Sept. 8, 9) – Start on PR 28-35 / After about 15 minutes discuss objectives of Unit 1 / Do RC 1 (Start with help at overhead) finish in groups / Assignment PR 28-35 and RC 1-7 (Skip RC-2)

Day 4 (Sept. 10, 11) – 1st do RC 18 together, then do RC 8 together. Assignment RC 8 – 28, with 22 being a bonus

Day 5 (Sept. 14, 15) – Study Team Strategy (Reciprocal Teaching) to check for understanding of the Pythagorean Theorem. Lots of resource pages today, Assignment RC 29-42, 40 is a bonus.

Day 6 (Sept. 16, 17) – Overhead transparency to help students understand height. Do RC 58 together. Assignment RC 43 – 60.

Day 7 (Sept. 18, 21) – Do 66 – 68 right away……….some with help of teacher. Do at least a couple of resource page (78) at the end of class together. Assignment RC 61 – 78.

Day 8 (Sept. 22, 23) – Put graphs of 79 on board or overhead…answer 79 together in class. Send a few students to the board to graph 3 or 4 linear Equations. Assignment RC 80-95, 87 can be a bonus and read 88 carefully (segment)

Day 9 (Sept. 24, 25) – Short Team Quiz, then assign RC 96 – 105

Day 10 (Sept. 28, 29) Show the Digit Place Game…. review (for DSPA) and then the DSPA. Start on Unit BP (the first few problems)
